Taco Cellar

by Borodi Denisa Maria

Bodega del Taco is a Mexican Mexican eatery in a very small space, which is why reservations are essential. It's run by an interethnic couple, and the direct interaction with them makes the experience more personal.

Culinary Experience 🍽️

The menu changes daily, which keeps the variety and makes each visit different. Tacos are done right, with soft, made-from-scratch tortillas, tender meat and fresh toppings. The salsa is flavorful, and the habanero-based sauces bring a high but well-balanced level of spiciness.

The decor is simple with a few Mexican elements, and the background music supports the restaurant's theme. The kitchen is open, so you can watch the food being prepared, which creates an atmosphere akin to a home kitchen.

Portions are moderate, ingredients are fresh, and dishes sell out relatively quickly, indicating a small and carefully controlled production flow. Specialty drinks complement the food well, especially in combination with the spicy flavors.

What do we recommend?

On your first visit it's useful to:

  • check the day's menu before you arrive
  • try the available tacos - fresh tortillas are the highlight
  • test one of their sauces, paying attention to the intensity of the spiciness
  • make a reservation as space is limited and fills up quickly

A small venue with a personal atmosphere where the experience focuses on visible cooking, staff interaction and a menu that emphasizes fresh ingredients and simple preparation
